We hope this message finds you well. We wanted to inform you of an important update regarding transportation in Thessaloniki.
Due to a nationwide 48-hour strike called by the Panhellenic Federation of Taxi Owners (ΠΟΕΙΑΤΑ), all taxi services in Thessaloniki—and across Greece—will be suspended from 5:00 AM on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, until 6:00 AM on Thursday, December 4, 2025. This includes today (December 2) and tomorrow (December 3).
The strike is a precautionary action to highlight pressing issues facing the taxi industry, such as regulatory challenges, fair competition, and sustainable practices. As a result, taxi operations will not be available during this period, and there may be additional traffic disruptions from planned motorcades and gatherings (e.g., a convoy starting at 10:00 AM on December 2 from Michail Psellou Street).
